At our northern New Jersey location, with such close proximity to New York Fashion Week and the epicenter of fashion trends, as well as to shopping meccas like the Short Hills Mall, our brides have their fingers on the pulse of the latest trends in bridal fashion. And one of those trends is for the bride to wear sensational shoes on her wedding day. Designer shoes are in demand, with Jimmy Choo and Christian Laboutin shoes leading the trend.

The bride’s wedding shoes are of such great importance that some brides are choosing their wedding dress style for its ability to show off their shoes. For instance, the big trend of short wedding dresses shows off the bride’s shoes, and there are even wedding dresses that are knee-length in front, draping gracefully to full length in the back to frame the bride’s choice of dazzling shoes.

Gorgeous wedding shoes are such a valued part of the bride’s wedding day look that professional wedding photographers are taking the same kinds of close-up spotlight photos of the shoes that they do of the wedding rings. Read more…

Picking the Right Jewelry for Your Wedding Day

Picking the Right Jewelry for Your Wedding Day

Enhancing the beauty of your wedding gown with the ideal accessories

As a popular New Jersey wedding venue, we’ve had the pleasure of hosting countless brides, each with their own unique style, which has extended to the choice of jewelry they wore on their wedding day as well.  Some have been extravagantly embellished; others have taken a completely natural approach and worn no jewelry at all.

At the end of the day, your personal style will ultimately be the best guide for selecting what jewelry feels right for you; after all, it’s your big day, so why not celebrate who you are?  That said, as the center of attention you’ll still want to make the best choices within your general aesthetic to make sure your beauty can shine through and is not upstaged by your ornamentation. Pinterest is so much more than a collection of pretty pictures; for brides, Pinterest provides a look at the top wedding trends (so that they can decide if they’d like to follow the trends or avoid them!) in every wedding planning category from wedding gowns to wedding flowers, décor, photography, rings, and especially wedding locations and wedding food and drinks.

When you’re researching and booking wedding vendors and sites, it’s important for your wedding experts and wedding site managers to get a crystal-clear understanding of what you want for your wedding day. And as they say, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” When you can present to your wedding experts and wedding site team a collection of images of what you want, and what you don’t want, the experts to whom you entrust your wedding vision get that clear picture of what you both would like, and they can then start creating it for you, right down to the garnish on the appetizers you call a Must. Hair and Makeup Tips for the Bride

Every bride wants to look stunning for her wedding celebration, and truly enjoys the pre-wedding preparations that include planning her wedding day beauty look. To design your perfect wedding day hair and makeup styles, it’s important to remember that wedding hair trends and wedding makeup trends are only guides to helping you choose the loveliest styles for your unique look. Your skin tone, hair personality and condition, and comfort with more dramatic wedding makeup and elaborate wedding up-do’s will greatly determine what your wedding look will be.

As the well-known wedding beauty adage goes, “You’ll look like you, only better.”

The first step in determining your wedding hair and makeup styles, you’ll first consider the style and location of your wedding. If you’ll have a formal outdoor wedding, your hair might be swept up in an elegant fashion or left loose and flowing in a romantic style. A daytime wedding calls for more natural makeup, while a nighttime wedding that’s more formal calls for dramatic makeup. According to top wedding makeup trends, bold, red lips can be worn in any wedding style, since it is a signature style of today’s weddings. Read more…

Choosing a ring

Engagement Ring

Your engagement ring will always be with you, as an ever-present reminder of the moment you became engaged, and as a symbol of the deep and beautiful love between you. Since this ring is such a focal point on your hand, and since it will be one of your most treasured possessions, a great deal of care must go into choosing the perfect engagement ring. That’s why a top wedding trend right now is for the bride to be involved in designing or selecting her engagement ring.

Our stylish New Jersey and New York City brides say they definitely had a say in the choice of their ring style, without ruining any of the magic of the proposal itself (that is most often still a surprise!) and their grooms are very happy to give their brides the experience of trying on rings at the ring shop. That’s a bride’s dream come true! And you get to try on different styles to pick The One for you. Read more…

Wedding Shoes

Wedding Day Shoes

Today’s glamorous designer wedding shoes are true works of art, with some of the biggest shoe designers like Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik, and Christian Louboutin lighting up the world of wedding fashion. Many of our New Jersey and New York City brides say they buy their designer wedding shoes before they buy their wedding dresses, since it’s such a big part of their wedding dream to wear fabulous wedding heels made by their favorite or dream designer. The passion for wedding shoes is as big as the passion for a dream wedding dress.

To choose the perfect wedding shoes for your big day, you have to know what they’ll face at your wedding venue. Will you have an outdoor garden ceremony? If so, don’t count out the designer heels. You can wear pretty, stylish flats to walk down a soft, grassy aisle in your outdoor garden ceremony site, and then change into your fashion-forward, glittery designer heels afterward, for the indoor reception.

Choose thicker heels for your wedding shoes if you would like to wear them for the ceremony, since wider heels don’t sink into grass as easily as thin stiletto heels, and thicker heels can also give you a more protected stride when walking on cobblestone driveways, marble terraces and down staircases. Natural Wedding Trends that Bring Nature and Romance Into Your Special Day

We’ve certainly seen our fair share of bold colors and wedding elements derived from statement pieces and color blocking recently. And we anticipate seeing more influences from the neons (especially pinks and oranges) and fuchsias that are walking the runways. But for those with a more classic aesthetic, you’ll be reassured to know that we’ve also been noticing already this year–on the other side of the spectrum–softer wedding trends.  We expect wedding trends to drift even further in this direction. While over-the-top weddings will remain popular for sure, look for them to share the spotlight with more natural, less overstated affairs.

Though various nature-inspired wedding trends have popped up in previous years, following the ever-growing interest in eco-conscious weddings, today’s natural wedding trend is less focused on being “green” specifically and more attentive to highlighting softer, more classic, and less ornate wedding styling.

But what does this mean for the average bride? Read more…
